a momentary pause where
the light
can squeeze like lemons
under pressure
all speech and candor
unaware
that someone is listening
towards something
which of us could boast
such power?

I like this contemporary language and form… and the depth of intent.
Cool! Thanks, Lesley-Anne. You’ve been a good mentor in this regard.
Do you workshop your stuff… belong to a poet group of any kind? I’d love to find a safe place to sharpen my work from time to time.
I do not. What a fantastic idea however!
You are connected to other poets, yes? Poet contemplatives, perhaps? Just wondering…
Um, kinda. I have a local poet who actively promotes my work on the “Poetry Pole.” Others are maybe just fellow online poets with whom I share poetry and ideas about the same. Poet contemplatives are rare indeed.
Well, I’m just going to see what reveals itself in this… no need to hurry. 🙂
